Atlanta — A six-month-old boy died after being involved in a drive-by shooting shootout in northwestern Atlanta.
It happened along Anderson Avenue on Monday afternoon.
The mother of the child said Channel 2 Dave Huddleston A bullet passed through her car and hit her son, Grayson Matthew, who was sitting in the backseat.
At a press conference on Monday, Mayor Andre Dickens said he needed to end the gun violence.
“Children bear this burden in their lives. I now demand that they stop now,” Dickens said.

The shooting scene happened near the KIPP Academy. Huddleston spoke with parents and daughters who heard the gunshots.
“Our windows were open. I heard that I originally thought it was a firecracker, but it was a gunshot,” he said.
Governor Brian Kemp expressed his condolences to his family and called it an “immeasurable tragedy.”

There were 12 murders in Atlanta during the first 24 days of 2022. Shooting on Monday shows that a second child under the age of six died in gun violence.
