AMD Ryzen 9000 ‘Zen 5’ Desktop CPU Pricing Could Be Ultra Competitive With Ryzen 9 9950X Flagship At $499 If These Prices Are To Be Believed
Pricing information is taken from Hail The Brain Slug, Anandtech Forum Memberwho claims to know someone who works at BestBuy. During the conversation, the purported BestBuy employee revealed that the Ryzen 9000 CPUs are in stock and ready for a retail launch on July 31, but availability may vary across stores. It is stated that while there is plenty of stock of the Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 7 9700X CPUs, this particular retailer does not have much stock of the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 5 9600X chips.
Previous PostWe saw a similar situation, with ample stock for the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 9 9900X, while the Ryzen 5 9600X had less than 100 units. But moving on to the important part, here are the estimated prices for the Ryzen 9000 CPUs:
- Ryzen 9 9950X – $499 (7950X MSRP $699)
- Ryzen 9 9900X – $399 (7900X MSRP $549)
- Ryzen 7 9700X – $299 (7700X MSRP $399)

It is also mentioned that the price may change once AMD updates retailers with the official retail launch date. It is entirely possible as we have seen major tech companies change MSRP/price at the last minute even on the day of launch. However, before we go any further, we would like to reiterate that we should not take these prices too seriously as they have not been officially confirmed yet.
If this is true, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-core CPU would be a compelling value over the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KS, which retail for over $500, consume more power, and suffer from instability issues. Meanwhile, the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X’s $399 price point is also solid, putting pressure on the Core i7-14700K CPU, while the Ryzen 7 9700X’s $299 price point is Recently, it was revealed that the chip will be slightly faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.It’s the best gaming chip out there right now while still operating at just 65W.
Finally, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X is available for $229. Previously expected price of $299The 6-core chip would be a decent mainstream solution in the AM5 segment at the rumored pricing. Overall, if these prices actually come to fruition, AMD could attract a lot of new PC builders to the AM5 platform, All the issues Intel is currently facing with its desktop lineupAMD could lose a big chunk of desktop market share.
