Sleeping with wet hair can cause unexpected problems.

Skin and hair Experts agree that going to bed before drying your hair can lead to troublesome scalp problems, and even hidden bacteria in the bed sheet.

Briana Delvecchio, hair stylist at Ashley Lauren Beauty Lounge in New York, shared in an interview with Fox News Digital that she always advises her clients that she is sleeping with wet hair for several reasons.

Sleeping with damp hair increases the risk of developing folliculitis. It was described as a fungal infection in people who have “already compromised skin barriers or oily scalps” that causes irritation, inflammation, or swelling.
