An investigation has been ongoing since the two suitcases were discovered. Found Police said on Wednesday that the bodies of two men had been found on Clifton Suspension Bridge, about 100 miles (160 km) west of the capital, Bristol.
In a statement, the Metropolitan police said officers believe the newly discovered remains are “linked to human remains found in Bristol”.
It was also reported that a 36-year-old man who was arrested in London over the horrific discovery has been released without charge.
Police are now searching for another man they believe is connected to the incident – 24-year-old Colombian national Yostin Andres Mosquera – who they have named for the first time – and said their top priority is to find him.
The group released a photo of Mosquera wearing a black Adidas baseball cap, black jeans, a black jacket, black sneakers with white platform soles and a black backpack.
Police believe they also know the identities of the two male victims, but said “formal identification is yet to take place.” Police are trying to locate the victims and notify their next of kin.
“The two victims are believed to have been known to Mosquera and the Metropolitan Police are appealing for any information regarding his whereabouts,” the statement added.
“This investigation is progressing rapidly with detectives in London and Bristol actively pursuing multiple lines of inquiry,” Deputy Superintendent Andy Valentine said.
The investigation began after Avon and Somerset Police received a report of a man with a suitcase “acting suspiciously” on a bridge in Bristol late on Wednesday. The suitcase was later found in the area, police said on Thursday.
