Get a great deal on the latest MacBook Air (but with double the RAM and storage).
Here’s why: You can get it for under $1,000, an attractive price of $250 less than you would pay at the Apple Store. But Apple is notoriously stingy with memory and storage on its devices. The base model has just 8GB of RAM and a 256GB hard drive. That’s fine if you only use your laptop for basic things like social media, streaming video, and simple document creation. But even with cloud storage, if you’re doing creative work, your SSD will fill up quickly with photos, audio, and video. (Yes, that’s a lot of work.) And while Apple does a good job of managing software resources on the Mac, 8GB of memory feels like a low limit.
So, what I did when Amazon ran this same sale a few months back was pay to double both specs. For $1,249 (after clipping that same $50 coupon on the screen), you get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Of course, a terabyte or more would be even better, but the choice is yours. This configuration costs $250 less than the Apple Store price for the same configuration, and it’s a lot more future-proof. For example, if you’re looking for a laptop for a high school or college student, this beefed-up model will get them through four years of study more comfortably than the $849 version.
If it’s still too expensive, 512GB MacBook Air M2It doesn’t have the extra RAM, but it’s otherwise the same, slightly older model, and for just $999 you can get a very capable, modern Apple laptop with plenty of storage.
