Angelina Jolie has asked Brad Pitt to ‘end the feud’.
The “Wanted” actress’ lawyers have asked her ex-husband to drop the lawsuit over Chateau Miraval, a winery in which the couple held a 50/50 stake until 2021.
Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, told Page Six in a statement that Pitt “has control of all of the couple’s joint property and businesses, but still wants more and is suing Angelina for $67 million plus punitive damages.”
“In doing so, Mr. Pitt clearly calls into question why he sought to punish and control Angelina by demanding new and expanded non-disclosure agreements to hide his own misconduct and abuse. These actions are at the heart of this litigation, and we are not at all surprised that Mr. Pitt is afraid to produce the documents evidencing these facts,” the statement continued.
“Angelina once again calls on Mr. Pitt to end their dispute and finally put her family on the path to healing, but unless Mr. Pitt drops his lawsuit, Angelina will have no choice but to obtain the evidence she needs to prove his claims false.”
Pitt and Jolie’s legal battle began when Jolie decided to sell her share in the winery. Pitt later filed a lawsuit alleging that Jolie’s sale was contrary to an agreement under which he would buy her share.
Jolie, 49, responded to Pitt’s lawsuit in April, alleging that Pitt, 60, had renegotiated a previous agreement not to buy an interest in Jolie’s wines. She agreed to sign a more extensive non-disclosure agreement.She claims this was an attempt to cover up alleged abuse against her and her children, a claim Pitt’s lawyers strongly deny.
