France led early in the third quarter and pulled within six on a buzzer-beater 3-pointer from Yabusele, but Canada still outscored its opponents by two in the third quarter.
Gilgeous-Alexander was limited to just two points in the third set, while De Colo led France to 11 points.
Halftime: Canada 44, France 40
France kept Canada within striking distance throughout the first half, but Gilgeous-Alexander had 13 points by halftime, making 4-of-6 field goals and 4-of-4 free throws to help the Canadians maintain their lead.
De Colo had a solid first half, leading the France team with nine points and three rebounds and one assist at the end of the second quarter, while Wembanyama missed most of the first quarter with early foul trouble but still had eight points by halftime.

After playing solid defense early in the game, France’s Wenbanyama picked up two early fouls and was sent to the bench, giving Canada an early lead.
Gilgeous-Alexander led Canada with seven first quarter points, followed by Nembard with six, while Guerschon Yabusele and Nando De Colo each had five points for France.
