Lawrie survives 11th hole drama to take lead

“I hit a great tentative shot,” Lawrie explained, “and the umpire asked me as I was going down the fairway if I wanted to hit my first shot and I said no and I thought that was OK.”

“And then when we got there, someone had found it and apparently we had to go and identify it. For those 20 minutes I was trying to figure out where to drop it off, I was very calm, very collected and really knew I was doing the right thing.”

“And Darren (Reynolds, caddie) did a great job too, he kept telling me there was no need to rush because there was plenty of time.

“To be honest, I was happy to walk away with six points. It wasn’t a disaster. I’ve been really calm and collected the last few days. I really felt like I was in my comfort zone.”

“Sometimes you’re in a mindset that you can do better than other times, and that’s what I felt this week like, and I think I’m ready to accept what’s coming and take what’s given to me.”

“Whatever challenges come my way, I think I’m ready to accept them and move forward. If I give myself a chance on Sunday, I know I can do it and that’s better than any situation.”
