Oxnard, California — Dallas Cowboys Star C.D. LambHe did not receive the contract extension that other wide receivers have been getting and is not scheduled to report to training camp on Wednesday with the rest of the team, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday night.

Lamb is in the final year of his $17.99 million contract this season, and the Cowboys were preparing for the All-Pro to miss the start of camp.

The suspension won’t be officially announced until Wednesday, but Lamb was not on the team’s charter flight that departed from Dallas on Tuesday. But the flight was non-essential and many players, including the quarterback, were on the flight. Dak PrescottBefore the bus arrived mid-afternoon, we were already on campus at the River Ridge Residence Inn.

The Cowboys’ first practice is scheduled for Thursday.

Lamb missed mandatory minicamp in June and was fined roughly $100,000 total, but the team can choose to forfeit those penalties. Per the collective bargaining agreement, a player is fined $50,000 for each day of training camp he misses, which cannot be forfeited.

“He’s a big part of everything we do, and we’re obviously going to miss him, but we’ve got to do our job while he does what he has to do,” the Pro Bowl left guard said. Tyler Smith “I think the best thing I can do as a teammate is to maintain the standards while he’s away and make sure that when he comes back the whole team is functioning well and giving 110 percent.”
