Big Lots is expected to close stores across the country, with closures expected in California.
The discount retailer announced it would close dozens of stores across the country. Quarterly report submission The company announced the store closures in June but did not say which stores would be affected. It said inflation, commodity costs, competitive and economic pressures had put its store operations in “significant doubt.”
California is 109 Big Lots stores, The state has the second-highest number of stores in the U.S. after Texas (116). The company operates 1,400 stores across the country.
Which California stores will close?
A large “Closed” sign was posted at a Big Lots store in Sacramento, about four miles from Sacramento State University. Signs posted inside the store advertised discounts of up to 20 percent.
