Disturbing new details have emerged The domestic incident that led to the June 1 arrest Former NFL star and executive Adrian Wilson.
Scottsdale Police Department documents obtained by TMZ On Wednesday, Wilson painted a picture of a violent argument he had with his wife while the couple’s children were at their Arizona home, in which he allegedly destroyed items in the home and threatened to kill himself.
According to police reports, Wilson’s wife, Alicia, claims the incident began when she discovered her husband was cheating and found the former Cardinals defensive back had left separation paperwork she had begun filling out at the guest house where Wilson was staying.
According to documents viewed by TMZ, Wilson, 44, then confronted her in her bedroom and things escalated.
Alicia claims Wilson threw and broke multiple objects and that the former NFL safety made advances to her, choking her at one point and calling her a “liar,” “bitch” and “whore” during the confrontation.
Wilson’s wife said she was frightened when Wilson removed the gun from the safe.
She told Wilson that her children were in the home, but Wilson didn’t seem to care and told her to “kill those kids,” according to the report.
Alicia ran away from the home and Wilson eventually left as well and began calling people saying he was going to kill himself.
He was detained by local police after returning to his Scottsdale home and, after speaking with authorities, admitted to vandalizing items in the bedroom.
He also admitted to taking a firearm from the safe.
According to TMZ, Wilson denied assaulting his wife during the argument.
He was charged with intentional assault resulting in bodily injury, property damage between $250 and $2,000 and disorderly conduct/fighting, all misdemeanors.
His next court date is set for July 16, when a virtual case management conference will be held.
Wilson played 12 years for the NFL’s Cardinals and served as a scout with Arizona in 2015 before taking over as the Panthers’ vice president of player personnel in 2023.
Wilson resigned from his position and the Panthers confirmed in a statement that “he will not remain in that role,” but did not say whether the decision was related to the June 1 domestic violence incident.
