In a 2017 interview, Nita Ambani said Anant “had severe asthma and had to take high doses of steroids,” adding that he “struggled with obesity. The treatment caused Anant to gain a lot of weight, at one point weighing 208 kg.”
“…We are still fighting obesity. There are many obese children, but mothers are embarrassed to admit it. But your child always looks up to you, so you have to encourage them to lose weight. We both went to a pediatric obesity clinic in Los Angeles for a while and got him into a routine,” Nita said in an interview. In 2016, Anant surprised everyone with his weight loss. He lost 108 kg in less than 18 months.
