Doctors are chiding after Hunter Biden argued that sleeping pills could have contributed to his father’s apparent cognitive struggle during the 2024 presidential debate.

Former President Joe Biden His son released a statement in an interview with YouTube host Andrew Callaghan, released Monday.

When discussing his father’s performance in the first presidential debate on June 27, 2024, this was widely described as “disastrous” and, although Joe Biden was eventually dropped from the race, pointing out that Hunter Biden suspected his father’s use of sleep aid.

Doctors have expressed concern about Biden’s obvious cognitive issues under discussion: “troubling indicators”

“I know exactly what happened in that discussion. He basically flew all over the world and he managed to fly the world three times,” Hunter Biden appeared on “Channel 5 with Andrew Callahan.”

“He’s 81. He’s as tired as S***. They Give him Ambien So that you can sleep. He gets up to the stage and looks like he’s a deer in the headlights. And it feeds the f****** story that everyone wants to tell. ”

Ambien (generic name Zolpidem) is a prescription drug In the case of insomnia. According to Goodrx, it is intended for short-term use only.

The most common side effects of Ambien include dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, muscle and joint pain, double or blurry vision.

After Biden drops out of the race, doctors reveal whether it was best for his health

Medications can also cause memory problems and annoyance during the day.

According to GoodRx, more serious and rare side effects include hallucinations, “abnormal thinking and behavior,” and “potentially increasing risk of dementia in older adults.”

“In itself, Zolpidem can have a higher risk of falls, behavioral changes and excess. When combined with other substances, it is even higher,” the source above states.

“Zolpidem can cause Daytime sleepinessdizziness, confusion, especially when combined with alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, or tricyclic antidepressants, slowed brain activity. ”

I recommend it People over 65 “Prepare extra attention” after taking the drug.

Dr. Marc Siegel, senior medical analyst at Fox News, agreed that Ambien could cause confusion, hallucinations, or in vitro experiences.

“Ambian is not a great drug for older people for these reasons,” Siegel, who has not treated Biden, told Fox News Digital.

But the doctor continued, “We don’t have a verifiable source to make sure this is true about Ambien. He may have been taking anything.”

Siegel also pointed out that Ambien is not a sedative, and if Biden took it the night before, it should have worn down by the time of the debate.

“And it doesn’t make any sense to take it just before the discussion. Doctors don’t recommend it,” Siegel said.

Dr. Michaela Robbins, board certified Nurse Practitioner In New York, he is not involved in care for Biden, the founder of East X Westmed, a hormone and longevity practice, but he commented on Ambien’s potential role in his suspected condition.

“It’s hard to say without providing a full medical evaluation, but generally, the use of ambien can absolutely cause the type of confusion that Biden seems to have experienced,” she told Fox News Digital.

“Studies suggest that even short-term use of ambien can cause it Delirium and confusionand long-term use is associated with an increased risk of dementia and cognitive decline, particularly in the elderly population. ”

“While it’s unlikely to cause this type of effect on young, healthy individuals, medication disruption is common for people of Biden’s age, especially for sedatives,” she added.

Overall, Robbins said Ambien is perceived as a “problemous and inappropriate medicine” when prescribed to elderly people.

“Ambiene can be a very dangerous medicine for the elderly, especially when combined with other drugs,” she said.

It is recommended that patients undergo a thorough medical evaluation and discuss their pros and cons with their physicians whenever Ambien is prescribed.

“From a Longevity perspectiveI think there are better interventions to prevent or treat insomnia that lead to less health risks and less mental disorders,” advised Robbins.
