More than a month after petitioning to change her last name in court documents filed in Los Angeles County Court, Jolie and Pitt’s daughter has published legal notices in the Los Angeles Times for weeks saying she is proposing to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

Proposals for name changes for 18-year-olds have been published weekly since June 17th.
According to court documents, Jolie-Pitt, who turned 18 on May 27, filed the paperwork to legally remove “Pitt” from her name on May 30.
The reason for her decision to change her name has not been disclosed.
Jolie-Pitt has kept a relatively low profile over the years, but she was recently accompanied by her mother on the red carpet at the Tony Awards in New York City.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016. The couple was reportedly declared legally single by a judge in 2019, but the divorce has not yet been finalized. The couple share three children, Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; and Zahara, 19, as well as 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Over the years, the actors have been embroiled in legal battles over child custody and disagreements over their shared business interests and property, including a French winery.
A hearing on Jolie-Pitt’s pending name change is scheduled for July 29th.
