A Bethesda developer happened to share the following hint: The Elder Scrolls VI The story is set in Hammerfell. This development is a response to a long-held fandom theme: The Elder Scrolls VI.

These suspicions were further strengthened by Ray Lederer, a senior concept illustrator at Maryland-based Bethesda Game Studios who has been with the company since 2008.
