Britney Spears I am retracting my comments about Halseyof”lucky“Video.X” Minutes after writing that she felt “violated and bullied” by the Gia Coppola-directed footage, which was inspired by Halsey’s own health issues, Spears claimed that she wasn’t the one who posted the statement.
In her first post, The “Gimme More” pop star claimed she was “deeply upset” by the video, which takes aesthetic inspiration from Spears but appears to reference Halsey’s own health issues. “I feel harassed, violated and bullied,” the post read. The now-deleted post also called the video “downright cruel” and even threatened legal action against Halsey.
“An artist like her, someone I respect and admire, is treating me in an ignorant way. [superficial] “A pop star with absolutely no heart or concern,” she continued. “I deleted my Instagram account yesterday due to my own health issues. I will definitely relaunch it to show I care.”
The statement, which Spears deleted, came as a surprise to many of her and Halsey’s fans, because Halsey samples Spears’ “Lucky” in the song, a use that Spears herself approved.
“FAKE NEWS!!! That’s not me in the picture on my phone,” Spears wrote in a new post she shared shortly after. “I deleted it because I love Halsey.”
Representatives for Halsey and Spears did not immediately respond. Rolling StoneRequest for comments.
Halsey reposted Spears’ comment and said she, too, loved the pop star. “I always have and always will,” she wrote. “You were the first person to make me realize what it means to be inspired.”
“You continue to inspire me every day,” she added.
In the “Lucky” video, a poster of a young girl depicting Halsey comes to life, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the pop star as she struggles with her personal and health issues. At one emotional point in the video, Halsey removes her pink wig to reveal she is bald and seeking treatment for her health issues.
Before dropping the colorful teaser for “Lucky,” Halsey had been diagnosed and Lupus SLE She also has a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. She tries of Oh no, I did it again She sang the song “Lucky” and talked about how much she related to Spears’ lyrics.
