The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is in the process of launching a large-scale study on possible links between autism and vaccines, a familiar source told Reuters.
The study has not been confirmed and it is unclear how the study will be conducted, the outlet reports.

A spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) told Fox News Digital: “Americans expect high-quality research and transparency, and that’s what the CDC has to offer.”

“As President Trump said in his joint speech to Congress, the rate of autism among American children has skyrocketed. The CDC is not reversed to its mission to understand exactly what is going on,” a HHS spokesperson said.

“Historically, institutions have argued that such connections do not exist, citing robust and outdated research,” she said.
“The move is supposed to rekindle the controversy, but could indicate efforts to address sustained skepticism.”
