Lionel Messi’s Argentina will face James Rodriguez’s Colombia in the Copa America final on Sunday night in Miami. Kickoff is at 8pm ET. It’s a poetic Copa America final, with Colombia facing the last team that beat them on Sunday in Miami for a chance to win their first title since 2001. It will be Colombia’s second title, but to do so, Los Cafeteros will need to beat the reigning champions, Lionel Messi’s Argentina. James Rodriguez has already set a record in the tournament, currently with six assists in the Copa America, and is looking for at least a seventh to extend Colombia’s unbeaten streak to 29 games in all competitions.

story
Columbia: For all his obstacles, Nestor Lorenzo still has some obstacles to overcome if Colombia is to win the Copa America title. Right-back Daniel Muñoz will be suspended for the final after receiving two yellow cards in the first half against Uruguay. Muñoz has been Colombia’s second-best player in the tournament after Rodriguez, scoring two goals while also putting up some excellent defensive play. He will likely be replaced by Santiago Arias in the final, but Colombia’s attack will look a little different.
Argentina: Argentina needs to be stronger than they were against Canada and weaken a team that has underperformed for much of the tournament. Messi was able to score against the Canucks despite fitness concerns, but it was Lautaro Martinez and Julián Alvarez who led Argentina in the tournament. They will need to work harder on their defense, especially on set pieces, where Rodriguez assisted on four goals. But if any team can stop a strong attack in the final, it’s Argentina.
prediction
Colombia have won the Copa America and will come full circle to extend their unbeaten record. Who can stop this team from winning again? choose: Colombia 2, Argentina 1
