Today’s Daily Chart

It’s a somewhat subjective rating of the weather for that day on a scale of 0 to 10.

6/10: The heatwaves have finally passed. Hope you’re all well!

Quick Forecast

  • today: Partly cloudy with low humidity. Scattered showers? High: 85 to 91.
  • tonight: Scattered showers and storms, mainly in the south. Lows: 61 to 69.
  • tomorrow: Sunny, light wind, moderate humidity. Highs: 84 to 90.

Detailed forecast

It’s okay to feel like today is a new beginning in life. The return to more seasonable temperatures will continue through the weekend. The rain forecast is a bit uncertain as the front that brought the storms last night hasn’t traveled very far south, which could bring storms and high humidity back to the region over the weekend.

Today (Thursday): By daybreak, the bulk of the showers and storms should be well south of the area. Still, there will be enough instability that there will be a slight risk of scattered showers at any time during the day. Most people will stay dry and welcome the light northerly winds and less heat and humidity. Highs will be in the mid-80s to near 90°F. Confidence: Medium to high

tonight: Scattered rain showers are possible in the evening, but will clear up quickly after sunset. Light winds will remain from the north under partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the 60s Fahrenheit. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Friday): Today will be a great day to be outside, with highs mostly in the mid to upper 80s F and manageable humidity (dew point around 60). Sunshine will prevail with only scattered clouds in the afternoon. Northeast winds will remain light. Confidence: High

tomorrow night: Dry air and a gentle breeze will make for a pleasant evening with temperatures slowly dropping into the 70s F. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 60s F. Reliability: High

Future outlook

The weekend begins Saturday Be on the lookout to the south. A weak disturbance will move northeast along the front, potentially pushing moisture back into the region. This will bring the risk of showers and afternoon storms. Fortunately, a fair amount of cloud cover will keep the heat in check, with highs mostly in the mid to upper 80s F. The chance of showers will continue into the late evening. Lows will drop to the upper 60s to low 70s F. Reliability: Moderate

For now, it looks like the front may retreat a little to the south. SundayHowever, humidity is on the rise, with dew points rising to around 70 degrees. A few showers and storms are possible in the late afternoon and evening. Highs will warm into the upper 80s to low 90s, with overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Reliability: Low to Medium

A surge in new rains and storms is possible Monday A new disturbance will likely move into areas along the front, possibly to the south. Severe storms will be most likely south of the city. Highs will be in the mid to low 80s Fahrenheit. Reliability: Low to Medium
