new Diablo 4 Season 5 With the release of the Blizzard RPG’s next update fast approaching, details are about to be announced, and we’re eagerly awaiting all the changes coming following the game’s recent PTR test. Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred DLC is still a little ways away, but Season 5 is already looking like it’ll be worth your time with a ton of new legendary and unique items. Ahead of the upcoming developer update, Lead Class Designer Adam Jackson speaks to the community about the level of changes we can expect.

“Preparing for Season 5 PTR launch livestream next week,” Jackson wrote on X/Twitter. The Diablo 4 lead class designer has quickly become a fan favorite as he regularly appears on Developer Update streams to openly and frankly discuss planned changes, the state of balance, potential issues with proposed ideas, and challenges the team is looking to overcome.

Announcing that he will be back for the next livestream on Thursday, August 1, Jackson said, “I can’t stop laughing at how wild we’ve made these unique changes. It’s going to be a fun stream.” Community Manager Adam Fletcher has already announced that we can expect an impressive collection of over 50 new legendary and unique items in the loot pool for Season 5, as well as a number of changes to existing items.

Fletcher also replied to Jackson’s post, writing, “This is going to be fun! Adam J will be doing the longest section.” Community manager Marcus Kretz also shared the update, adding simply, “Fasten your seatbelts everyone.”

We can certainly expect some pretty dramatic changes. With Loot Reborn, Blizzard demonstrated a willingness to make increasingly bold changes, and we’re hoping to see that reflected here. After all, what better time to experiment than the final season before the expansions arrive?

When the livestream begins, we’re also expected to see the results of other changes made following the recent Season 5 PTR, including details on the big new feature: Infernal Hordes, a wave-based survival mode where you can earn upgrades between rounds. Roguelike gamesAdditional information regarding other quality of life improvements being introduced in the update may also be provided.
