Disneyland Workers Four unions representing about 14,000 cast members at the Anaheim theme park said the state of California has authorized a possible strike if their demands are not met.
Their vote, which represents an overwhelming 99 percent of union members, would authorize a strike only if negotiations with Disney fail to reach a new contract. Negotiations are set to begin on Monday, according to the Orange County Register.

The union’s demands include wage increases as well as disciplinary action against about 700 employees who wore union badges in support of the contract campaign, Inside the Magic reported.
The National Labor Relations Board is currently investigating the allegations.

The contract for Disneyland employees ended on June 16th, but Downtown Disney and California Adventure The park’s contract is not scheduled to expire until Sept. 30.
Discussions with Disneyland over employee demands began in April of this year.
