Eminem 11th album to reach number one Billboard 200 It was ranked as his latest studio album on the chart (dated July 27th). The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Glace)debuted at the top of the charts. According to Luminate, the album sold 281,000 album-equivalent units in the U.S. in the week ending July 18, making it the highest-selling rap album of 2024.
It won first place for the 11th time. Billboard 200 Chart-wise, Eminem is tied with Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and Ye (formerly Kanye West) for the fifth-most number one hits on the Billboard 200. Above him are The Beatles (a record 19 number one hits), Jay-Z and Taylor Swift (14 each), and Drake (13).
Additionally, three artists debuted in the new Billboard 200 Top 10, all of whom released their highest-charting albums of all time. Enhypen, Clairo and Megan Moloney‘s latest releases ranked at number 2, 8, and 9, respectively. Additionally, after spending 12 consecutive weeks at number 1, Taylor Swiftof Angry Poets Category missed out on the top spot in its first week, dropping to number four in its 13th week on the list.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption measured in album equivalent units compiled by Luminate. Units consist of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit is equivalent to the sale of one album, or 10 songs sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. Ahead of Eminem’s new album, he has had two hits in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100: “Houdini,” which debuted at No. 2 on the June 15 chart, and “Tobey,” featuring Big Sean and Babytron, which rose to No. 27 on the July 20 chart.

Album sales were bolstered by the album’s release in 17 different CD versions, all of which came with collectible paper extras such as photocards, stickers, and posters, as well as two vinyl versions.

Clairo became the album’s highest charting success to date, reaching the top ten for the first time. charm It debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200, earning 47,000 album-equivalent units, her best week ever in terms of units. Of these, 32,000 were album sales (her best week ever), 15,000 SEA units (equivalent to 19.78 million on-demand streams of the set’s tracks), and very few TEA units. The set’s first-week sales were further boosted by the album being sold on eight vinyl varieties and four deluxe box sets (including branded merch and CDs). The album was preceded by the single “Sexy to Someone”, which reached the Top 20 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart and the Top 30 on the Alternative Airplay and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs charts.
Megan Moloney debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart with her second full-length album. Am I okay? It debuts at #9 with 43,000 album units, making it the singer-songwriter’s biggest week in units. Of this total, 30,000 SEA units (equivalent to 38.05 million on-demand official streams of tracks from the set), 13,000 album sales, and just under 500 TEA units were generated. The album precedes Moloney’s three songs on the Hot Country Songs chart: “No Caller ID,” “28th of June,” and “Indifferent.” The success of the new album follows Moloney’s chart breakout in 2023 with singles from his debut full-length album, “Tennessee Orange.” lucky (peaking at number 38 on the Billboard 200 in 2023). “Tennessee” peaked at number 10 on the Hot Country Songs and was nominated for Song of the Year at both the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards.
