Healthier intestines can start with one letter.

Some healthcare professionals recommend using the “5R approach” to help improve mood, reduce inflammation and restore intestinal biodomes that can alleviate some chronic health conditions. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and autoimmune diseases.

The plan, originally created by the Institute of Functional Medicine in Washington, focuses on five elements of intestinal healing to help restore overall digestive health.

The “Western Diet” has been accused of increasing digestive risks among younger adults

These include removing toxins and harmful triggers, replacing depleted digestive enzymes, rearranging “good” bacteria in the intestine, repairing intestinal lining, Rebalance your lifestyle.

Dr. Sydne Ford-Norton, board-certified physician and co-founder of Spark Performance and Wellness in Atlanta, Georgia, said the 5R approach has helped patients improve their energy levels and reduce bloating.

Poor diet, certain medications, environmental exposure and food sensitivity can all destroy the gut microbiota, doctors told Fox News Digital.

This can lead to symptoms such as gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel, and joint pain.

“Coffee Entestine” social media trends raise health concerns among doctors

This condition can “leak” the lining of cells in the intestine, food particles and inflammatory cells that have been digested into the bloodstream, causing inflammation and an autoimmune response.

” GI Tract Dr. Joel Evans, director of the Medical Bureau of Functional Medicine, told Fox News Digital in an interview.

“If you have gut problems, it’s not only a problem that makes you feel bad, but it’s also an immune system problem that can lead to autoimmune diseases.”

Hesús M from Atlanta Gastroenterologist and Spokessers for the American Gastroenterological Association. Luévano, MD, Overall health.

“What we eat affects how we feel, from the microscopic level that promotes cell health to the balance between our gut microbiota and our own homeostasis,” he told Fox News Digital.

“Providing the right form of energy for our gut and microbiota and avoiding proinflammatory agents such as deep frying and fatty foods, alcohol, tobacco and ultra-highly processed foods is a key factor in. Good intestinal health. ”

Dr. Alan Weiss, medical director of Annapolis Integrated Medicine in Maryland, agreed that there may be “unquestionable” about the effects of Gut. Overall health.

“Your gastrointestinal tract has about 80% of your body’s immune system, and your gut produces about 85% of the body’s neurotransmitters,” Weiss told Fox News Digital.

The 5R approach relies on the following important steps to restore healthy intestinal balance.

According to Ford-Norton, removing stressors, foods and toxins, which are considered inflammatory triggers, is the first step.

These include gluten, dairy products, sugar, and Processed food. Tests can be run to detect food sensitivity and allergies.

This component involves the exchange of depleted digestive enzymes. Vitamins and minerals.

“Many people don’t produce the enzymes they need to break down food properly and get the nutrients they need,” Ford Norton said.

Refusion involves introducing good bacteria into the gut through prebiotics and probiotics.

“When you went back in time, people knew fermented foods were important,” Ford Norton pointed out. “We’ve become busier in society and we’ve become more distant from eating more. Natural foodwe stopped eating those foods and replaced them with processed foods. ”

Two of these fruits can improve gut health and combat the risk of cancer, doctors say

Experts encourage people to get prebiotics through food rather than through another supplement.

She advised that fiber-rich foods and fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi are nutrient-rich sources.

Repairing the intestinal lining is essential to improve intestinal absorption and reduce inflammation.

“Inflammation is a fundamental imbalance that leads to most complex chronic diseases in the population, and then our influence. Emotional happiness Through the gut-brain connections, Evans said.

Most of the time, Ford Norton noted, the gut experiences some degree of harm – perhaps From the medicineantibiotics and chronic stress.

She usually formulates anti-inflammatory herbs such as omega-3 fatty acids, amino acid L-glutamine, zinc supplements, and aloe vera to repair the intestinal lining.

Eating foods rich in omega-3s, such as chia seeds, hemp seeds, and walnuts, can also be helpful.

It is important to check with your doctor before taking the supplement to avoid interaction with the underlying conditions, Ford Norton added.

“A lot of people just want to take supplements. [and] It makes me feel better No sleep for them. ”

For rebalancing, doctors recommend getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night and using stress management tools such as yoga, meditation, and walking.

“It’s all about reregulating your emotions Nervous system And your digestive system – it’s all playing together,” she said.

When implementing 5R, Ford-Norton said it’s important not to skip any part.

“I’ve seen so many people on an exclusion diet, but they don’t replace or reorganize components, so they’re undergoing incomplete treatment,” she told Fox News Digital.

Evans and Ford Norton agreed that although the 5R approach is not a guaranteed treatment for health, many patients have seen improvements in symptoms and, in some cases, chronic disease reversal.
