The Legend of Guns N’ Roses Slash He is mourning the death of his stepdaughter as social media reacts to her final actions Instagram post.
Lucy Blue Knight died on July 19th at the age of 25.
She was the daughter of Slash’s longtime partner Megan Hodges and her ex-husband Mark Knight. The 58-year-old GNR guitarist and Hodges began dating in 1989 and rekindled their relationship in 2015.
“Lucy Blue Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Megan Hodges and Mark Knight, step-daughter of Samantha Summers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlett Knight and sister-in-law of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 in Los Angeles, California,” Slash said in a statement. “Lucy Blue was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, loving and kind soul. The family asks for privacy at this time and to keep speculation on social media to a minimum as they grieve and process this tragic loss,” the statement concluded.
Slash announced early Sunday morning that he had to cancel four shows on his “SERPENT” tour due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
“We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” he wrote. InstagramThe tour is scheduled to resume in Toronto on July 28th.
The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office said an autopsy has been scheduled for Lucy Blue Knight, the New York Post reports.
Lucy Blue Night’s Final Message
Three hours after Slash posted his statement on Instagram, a supposedly planned photo of Knight was posted to her Instagram account along with a chilling message.
“I’m sorry for making you feel left out, for manipulating/controlling you, for telling you to quit your day job because I felt safe knowing my parents were financially supporting you, and for masking real issues with toxic positivity,” she captioned the photo.
She continues, “I have missed out on countless opportunities and connections because of my crippling ego, insecurity and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from the poor job that is Lucy Blue. Peace.”
The message was accompanied by a selfie of Knight wearing large round glasses, short bleached bob hair and not looking at the camera.
Other social media users wondered how the post came about following the news of Knight’s death, with some questioning whether it was a “scheduled post,” meaning Knight may have written the caption and set it to post at a later date.
“Please stop speculating. Respect her and her family,” one user wrote, while another argued, “These are important words that explain a lot and ultimately they are her final words. Important words.”
Her second most recent post, a “drawing I did” of a person wearing green cowboy boots, was posted on January 4.
