How have you dealt with all the reactions to your company signing Harry?
It was a rollercoaster of events, a tsunami, an earthquake, Christmas, all rolled into one. Since we officially became her representative, our team has been working around the clock, and our first action goal was to protect her and help her with her education. But the most important thing for us was to understand who she is, who she is as a person, and where she wants to go. We flew to a small town called Belfast, Tennessee, an hour and 20 minutes south of Nashville, to see her home, her dog, her horse, her friends, and to meet her grandmother, Janie. It was refreshing to see that someone who had hijacked the feeds of people all over the world was a sweet, humble, small-town girl who had received a lottery ticket from God.
Why do you think this video became so popular?
It was funny and makes you want to laugh right now. It’s very sexual, but the contrast between what this sweet, innocent country girl said and the way she delivered it captivated everyone and made them want to watch it again. I was the same, I didn’t get it, so I had to go and see it. But when you meet her in person and hear what she has to say online, she’s so fun and unassuming that you just want to root for her. You root for someone like this who comes from a poor family and has made it in life, taken care of her grandmother, worked hard in the factory. It’s so beautiful to see the internet pick the right people to make celebrities.
What about her career did you feel aligned with your business?
My company has been in the entertainment business for over 25 years, and musician representation is a big part of it, but we also work in new business development, strategic marketing and branding, we represent Fortune 500 companies and brands like the Marley family, we’ve worked on documentaries, and last year we published a children’s book in collaboration with Simon & Schuster.
With all the different viral stars out there, why did Hailey stand out to you?
I think what makes her different is that she didn’t ask for it. She took a six-month break from social media for mental health reasons. If it hadn’t been for that night on Broadway, she would never have come back on social media. She had to get back on there and say, ‘These people are impersonating me.’

How much revenue did her official merchandise make?
We’re approaching $300,000. When I signed her, I was on the phone with a trademark lawyer right away and said, “Go after everyone who has trademarked this and get injunctions against them.” And we had to build up her social media presence. “You can’t stop this volcano, so what do you do?” She’s very interested in using this new platform to make different things better, not just monetize it. She lives with her grandmother, and she has no plans to leave her grandmother. She wants to make sure she never does anything to bring shame to her hometown.
She’s been in the news for her vulgar comments, but she’s also a family-oriented person, so was it difficult to strike a balance?
It would be against her morals to do something she hasn’t done before. We’ve been offered millions of dollars in adult appearances and sponsorship deals. OnlyFanthat’s not her. She Rolling Stone’On their website, they basically described her as a Gen Z Dolly PartonThat’s the North Star. Dolly Parton is from a small town in Tennessee, and she’s a very funny person and she’s not afraid to say funny things about her breasts. But the core values of being a small town person remain the same. Rolling Stone She is America’s sweetheart and the hero we all need right now. People all over the world love her.
Would she consider trying acting?
She is not an actress. We have turned down several film offers, including a horror movie. One was from a small major company, the other is an indie. One producer said they wanted to reshoot the ending of the movie for her. I literally just got another offer five minutes ago. I spoke to these producers and said, “Hire an actress.” She is not a professional actress. She is a funny person. Her forte is comedy, and she may do something like that in the future. We are considering launching a podcast with her. It will be a comedic tone, but very relatable and very true to her essence as a country girl.
What is your plan for the podcast and how do you pitch it?
We have been approached by 3 agencies. It’s a comedy-based podcast. People want to talk to her and find out more about her. 10 minutes ago I was on the phone with one of the 3 letter agencies in Los Angeles. They are very keen to sign us and will have a meeting soon. We have met with a couple of agents in Nashville. We are doing press runs in New York and Los Angeles. We have some great guys who are locking us down for interviews.
Is she hoping to sign with a Hollywood agency?
She doesn’t even know what that means. No disrespect. There’s a lot of deals coming in, and we have a team that vets everything. The first phase was completed this week, which was to protect her and clean up her social media. In four days, she had over 1 million followers on Instagram, and over 1 million followers on TikTok.
We’ve heard there may be a reality TV show in the works, what’s the latest on that?
We’re developing a reality show. We have a few ideas. We’re already talking to a couple of showrunners on conference calls and we’re fleshing them out. There’s also a documentary format, which is, “This person comes from a small town and now they’re famous and they’re in a tough situation. What’s a day in their life like?” That’s the obvious option and we’re exploring it. Another thing she’s really interested in is traveling, because she’s never been on a plane before. I ask her, “Can you imagine going to some exotic place like Japan or France and you and your friends being like a fish out of water?”
How do you respond to those who cynically think that part of the motivation for such a deal is to bring attention to your company?
She’s turning down any deals with brands that don’t want a long-term relationship with her. They have to be aligned with her core values. An agent I spoke to a few minutes ago said, “It’s a story of hope, and people want to read about it. Would she be interested in publishing a book?” In the future, with all the other touchpoints being developed, I think we’d be interested in that. There’s obviously a lot of interest in appearances and deals. Right now, we’ve got 75 offers in the U.S. alone. We’ve just had offers from 20 cities in Europe, and we have a team currently presenting in Australia as well.
Is it like a speaking tour?
She will take to the stage to tell her story, what has happened since that magical night, and what she plans to do with her life, followed by an audience Q&A. Everyone is curious to know how Belfast, Tennessee native Harry Welch handles hanging out with Shaquille O’Neal and Zach Bryan, and getting calls from some of the biggest artists in the world wanting to collaborate.
Zach Bryan’s stage appearance attracted a lot of attention.
Today is American Idol We saw her singing on the Zach Bryan stage. The email said, “I saw her sing on the Zach Bryan show and she has an amazing voice. I’d love to know if there’s a way we can get her on the show.” I replied, “She can’t sing at all. Did you see her performance? She can’t sing.” If there was a fun promotional tie-in, we’d be all for it. American Idol“But she’s not singing, and we don’t want to take away from people who are talented in that respect. She knows her way around. People love to hear a girl with an accent like hers who is funny and speaks her truth, and that’s what we’re going to focus on.”
Are you worried that her window of opportunity for success will close relatively quickly?
If she wasn’t who she was, we would be more worried about 15 Minutes. But the fact that she calls her company 16 Minutes LLC tells me she has a good head on her shoulders. We’ve already received offers for November and December, which is a good barometer. My inbox hasn’t stopped since I started representing her, which is a good sign, because a lot of times these things go away in a few days. As long as people hear her or see her, they’ll fall in love with her. And because she has unlimited opportunities, she can decide which path she wants to follow.
Any final message you’d like to give to her haters who are skeptical about her career path?
Her 15 minutes are up, it’s already 16 minutes.
