It’s been a few weeks since Samsung launched its new flagship model. Wireless Earphonesand a lot has happened since then. Sales of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have now been halted, but how did we get to this point? Let’s take a closer look at what happened, the issues customers are having, and whether shipments will resume.

Just over a week after its release, the tech giant has decided to discontinue sales of its new premium earbuds. Customers are currently unable to pre-order the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro from retailers like Best Buy and Amazon. On Samsung’s own website, the shipping date has been changed from July 24 to August 28.
According to Samsung, Android Authority (read Full statementAccording to Huawei, the decision was due to quality control issues. As a result, the company has suspended deliveries to its retail partners. The company also issued a statement to customers in the domestic market apologizing for the quality issues and offering exchanges or refunds.
Samsung said it will conduct a “full quality control assessment before shipping to consumers,” and added that customers who already own the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro should contact Samsung or visit their nearest Samsung service center if they experience any issues.
What issues are your customers experiencing?
As people began using the company’s new premium earbuds, some issues were discovered, starting with the ear tips, but then more issues were discovered.
Breakable ear tips are one of the most talked about issues so far. According to multiple reports on Reddit and YouTube, the ear tips can break when trying to remove them from the earbuds. The issue appears to be related to the hard plastic ring at the base of the silicone ear tips that secure them to the earbuds for a snug fit. However, Samsung Support page It will instruct users how to safely remove the ear tips, and if the ear tips are already damaged, they can also contact Samsung for a replacement.
Recently, one of South Korea’s top technology commentators released a video listing the various problems he has found. IT Sub In a review on YouTube, a reviewer bought a set of 10 Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Here are the issues they found:
- The surface of the earphones was not even along the contours.
- The joint at the bottom of the stem was uneven.
- The earbuds were positioned at different heights within the case.
- Some cases had stickers on the hinges, others did not.
- The ear tips were already dusty even before I took them out of the case.
- Blue and orange dye residue was found on the surface of both pairs of earbuds.
- One of the earbuds had a chip/dent near the LED area.
- Most of the LED lights have rounded tops, but there were two that appeared to be cut straight down.
Some of these issues are highlighted in the screenshots below: In the first image, the right earbud is taller than the left. In the second image, there is uneven coloring on the bottom of the stem. The next image shows an issue with the LEDs, and the last image shows blue dye residue on the ear tips.
Sound GuysOur sister site also found issues with the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and the new Siren Detection feature. Siren Detection is designed to allow sirens and alarm sounds to get through the ANC to keep users aware of their surroundings. But we found the feature to be largely unnecessary, as the earbuds let in all kinds of intrusive noise, interrupting the listening experience. After putting the earbuds through some tests, we found that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s ANC only managed to block out 76% of external sounds. By comparison, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro It blocks out up to 84% of outside noise.
How many people are affected?

It’s important to note that the issue only seems to be affecting the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro; it doesn’t appear to have been reported for the base model Galaxy Buds 3.
As mentioned above, there have been numerous reports on Reddit and YouTube. Availability is still quite limited, so it’s unclear how widespread these issues actually are.
In the ITSub video, the YouTuber purchased 10 Buds 3 Pro, 8 of which were white and 2 were silver. The issues found in the video appear to have been with the white version. According to the reviewer, 3 of the 10 had issues with build quality that were bad enough to be worth sending back to Samsung.
Will the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro start shipping again?
Samsung has announced that it has “halted shipments of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to its distribution channels.” But don’t worry too much: the shipping suspension is just a temporary measure that the company is taking to give the earbuds time to evaluate any quality issues. Once this is complete, Samsung should resume shipments. On its website, the manufacturer has listed August 28 as the new shipping date, indicating that it plans to resume shipments eventually.
Can I refund my order?
Not all customers have experienced issues with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, but if you do have issues with your earbuds, Samsung offers some solutions. The company recommends sending the earbuds back to the store for a replacement. However, if you just want a refund, Samsung is also offering one.
Our opinion
Ryan Haynes / Android Authority
When Samsung first announced the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, the company (rightly) received a lot of criticism for copying the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s design. Apple AirPodsThese weren’t direct copies, but they were heavily influenced by the Cupertino company’s design philosophy, which put Samsung in a questionable position from the get-go.
While there’s nothing to complain about in terms of performance, aside from the lack of ANC, the build quality issues are hard to ignore, and more and more issues seemed to be discovered before Samsung finally decided to suspend shipments.
Overall, it’s been a nightmare launch for a product that changed its design so drastically. To add fuel to the fire, this was supposed to be Samsung’s flagship earphones. A recall due to poor quality of a premium product is more than an embarrassment for a company that has been operating in this space for years.
