Whether you’ve used Check-in on your iPhone before or are new to it, it’s easy to set up and customise. Use this tool to let your trusted contacts know your location and health status, and even automatically send location data if your check-in isn’t completed successfully.

How to Use Apple Watch Check-in in watchOS 11
- Install watchOS 11 Beta
- Open the Messages app to start a new message
- Tap the + sign at the bottom, scroll down and tap Check-in
- Choose how you want to check in: Timer, Destination, or Workout Completion
- Edit details
- Send check-in
- You can cancel or edit your check-in at any time from the message

1. Install watchOS 11 beta
Before trying out the check-in feature on your Apple Watch, Download and Install watchOS 11 BetaThe full release is still a few months away, but anyone with a compatible device can try it out, including Apple Watch Series 6 or later, Apple Watch SE 2022, and both Apple Watch Ultra models.

2. Open the Messages app and start a new message
beginning, Open the Messages app to start a new messageYou can check in to one contact or multiple contacts. Then, Tap Create a message.
3. Tap the + sign at the bottom, scroll down and tap Check-in.
Click on the + sign It appears to the left of the message field. Scroll down The penultimate option. Tap “Check-in”.
4. Choose how you want to check in: Timer, Destination, or Workout
You will see three options here: “Upon arrival” varies depending on the destination Using GPS data, selected contacts will be notified once you have arrived safely.
“After timer” is based on elapsed time. Once it expires, you’ll be notified to check in. If you don’t check in, your contacts will be alerted and your location data will be sent.
“When I Finish a Workout” will notify your contacts when you manually complete an exercise in the Workout app.It will let you know when you have returned home safely, which is especially useful for people who enjoy running, hiking, cycling or walking outdoor routes alone.
5. Edit details
when Check-in upon arrival,simply Search and select your destination. Tap the check mark To review your selections, click in the top right corner.
If you are Check in with a timerOptions are available in 5 minute increments up to a maximum of 8 hours. Scroll through minutes and hours with a flick of your finger. Click “Finish” Once you’re happy with your selection, Tap the check mark in the top right Check everything.
To Check in with your workout,you Open the Workout app, Select an exercise and startThen scroll left and then scroll down. Select Check-inFrom there Edit the details and submit your check-in.
6. Send your check-in
Once all the important details of the safety check-in have been finalized, the final step is Click Send to launch the check-in message and notify the recipient..
7. You can cancel or edit your check-in at any time from the message
with some reason Finish check-in early,simply Return to the Messages appSelect the check-in message, Click “Details”and Scroll down to “Cancel check-in”. Tap to confirm cancellationThat’s it, the recipient will be notified that the check-in has been completed.
