Box Score

The Warriors won their first ever Mitch Richmond Trophy with a perfect 3-0 record. California Classic However, they missed the chance to win. NBA Summer League They missed out on the championship on Sunday after losing 102-99 to the Miami Heat at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Golden State was 7-0 against the Cali Classic and Las Vegas before the loss to Miami. The Warriors also beat the Heat by 39 points two weeks ago.

Former first-round draft pick turns journeyman Kevin Knox Knox did everything in her power to lead Golden State to victory in Sin City. Knox came off the bench and scored a game-high 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting and 5-of-10 from the 3-point line in 30 minutes. Knox also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The fourth quarter was chaotic and frustrating as the Warriors lost 37-29 despite leading by five going into the final quarter.

Twice as many turnovers as the Heat (8-16) and a 23.5% shooting percentage from 3-point range (8-of-34) led to a tough loss for the Warriors. Golden State’s Pat Spencer had 14 points but was a minus-11, the worst on the team. Quinten Post, playing in his second summer league game, had 10 points in 15 minutes.

Here are three takeaways from the Warriors’ final Summer League game.

Knox heats up

Summer league is a chance to see rookies play in their first NBA games, but the exhibition circuit is even more important for a player like Knox. It’s a chance for the journeyman to prove he still belongs there. Even former players 9th overall draft pick I will be 25 in August.

Knox’s biggest weakness has always been her lack of shooting, but she was dominant on the court in the first half on Sunday, scoring 15 points in 15 minutes off the bench with the Warriors leading by two, making 6-of-8 field goals and 3-of-5 3-pointers.

The Warriors started the second quarter on a 10-0 run, with Knox scoring the first five points.

The Nou show continued in the second half. Nou shot 6-of-9 overall and 2-of-5 on 3-pointers. The final score was hard to swallow. Knox’s play was spectacular.

Post 2.0

Quinten Post’s Long-awaited debut That plan finally came to fruition on Friday night, when the second-round pick impressed by scoring 10 points in 14 minutes off the bench. That performance earned Post a spot in the starting lineup on Sunday, but the big man got off to a quiet start. Post only played seven minutes in the first half and didn’t take a single shot.

The 7-footer made his first three shots of the second half, including this big dunk.

His first missed shot was a whiff on a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter with the Warriors down by two. He made all four of his free throws and was minus-six overall in the loss.

Bad timing for PRAUDEN

This summer couldn’t have been better for Plauden. Two-way contract From the Warriors for his appearance Between Las Vegas and the California Classic, however, the worst possible match came at the worst possible time.

Prowden was very clinical with his shots. The star took seven shots this summer and missed all seven of them.

He missed all five of his three-point attempts, as did Plauden’s two two-pointers. Then Plauden was fouled on a three-pointer and the Warriors were down four, but had a chance to be the hero at the end. Plauden made his first free throw but missed his second. He also missed his third on purpose, but the Warriors couldn’t get the rebound and the result was clear.

Plowden should be feeling proud when he travels home from Las Vegas, motivated after a tough final race.
