In the post PlayStation BlogHiromi Wakai, vice president of product management at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said that Sony plans to release the update globally in the coming months.
According to the PlayStation Blog, highlights of the PS5 beta update include:
Personalized 3D audio profiles for headphones and earphones (available on all PS5 models)
This generation, 3D audio is one of the key ways creators have embraced it to make games more immersive. Each of us hears sound differently depending on the size and shape of our heads, ears, and ear canals.
Introducing the ability to create a personalized 3D audio profile just for you on your PS5 console. With headphones or earphones like the Pulse Elite Wireless Headset or Pulse Explore Wireless Earphones, we run a series of sound quality tests to analyze a variety of factors and create an audio profile that best suits your hearing characteristics. For example, a personalized 3D audio profile can help you feel the location of characters and objects in the game world more clearly than ever before, creating a more immersive experience.
To create a personalized 3D audio profile for your headphones or earphones, [Settings] > [Sound] > [3D Audio (Headphones)] On your PS5 console, open and follow the on-screen instructions. Audio profiles will be stored on your PS5 for each user, and you can still choose from 3D audio presets.
This feature builds on the 3D audio enhancements that have been introduced on PS5 since launch, including 3D audio support for built-in TV speakers and support for compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled audio devices. These features give you more options to become even more immersed in the rich soundscapes of PS5 games with Tempest 3D audio technology.
Enable Remote Play for individual users (available on all PS5 models)
You can now adjust Remote Play settings on a per-user basis and choose who can connect to your PS5 console using Remote Play. So if a friend or family member comes over to visit and signs in to their PS5 console with their PlayStation Network account, you can easily change who can access your PS5 console using Remote Play after they leave.
To adjust these settings, [Settings] > [System] > [Remote Play] > [Enable Remote Play]Click and select the users you want to allow to access your PS5 console through Remote Play.
Adaptive charging for controllers (available on latest PS5 models)
PS5 beta participants with the latest PS5 models can now take advantage of adaptive charging for the DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation VR2 Sense controller, and Access controller when the console is in rest mode. Adaptive charging conserves power by adjusting the amount of time the controller is powered based on its battery level.
To use adaptive charging, [Settings] > [System] > [Power Saving] > [Features Available in Rest Mode]Select [Supply Power to USB Ports] > [Adaptive]After the PS5 enters rest mode, if no controller is plugged in, the USB port will stop supplying power after a certain period of time.
