But even after all this time, not all apps are optimized for the larger screen of a foldable phone. While almost all apps can scale their UI to fill the entire screen of the Galaxy Z Fold phone’s internal display, some apps are unable to fit their content within the screen.
You can now force app content that exceeds the screen size to fit properly
One example is images in some social media apps running off the screen, an issue seen on X (formerly Twitter) with some tweets that have both text and images attached, like the image below.
Now, One UI 6.1.1teeth, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6Samsung has finally found a solution to this problem.
This solution is Narrow vision This option can be accessed by tapping on the app’s icon on the recent apps screen, and as the name suggests, Samsung will slim down the app’s UI when you select this option.
It basically displays apps just like you would on a regular smartphone display, ensuring your content is displayed properly. Samsung has also added the option to move apps to the left or right side of the screen, which makes it easier to use with one hand.
Using X App’s narrow view, the tweet in the above image displays both the text and the attached image at the same time, as shown in the screenshot below.
This is also useful for apps that only support landscape orientation when opened on the Galaxy Z Fold – Indian banking app HDFC has this limitation, but in One UI 6.1.1, you can use it in portrait mode by narrowing it down.
The older Galaxy Z Folds are expected to get the narrow bezel feature with One UI 6.1.1
of Narrow vision The option is not temporary. The app will always open in narrow mode until you switch it to full screen mode. To switch to full screen mode, open the Recent Apps screen, tap the app icon, and then tap full screen.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 predictably doesn’t have the feature, but it should be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and previous Fold models. One UI 6.1.1 update expected to be released later this year.
