Dexter is back!

The actor appeared in the prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, He played the role of the serial killer’s inner voice, or narrator, in the original show, and he will star in the new series. Dexter: ResurrectionA work set in the present day.
The news of Hall’s appearance was announced on the program 2024 Comic Con On Friday, a packed Ballroom 20 saw the opening credits of the new prequel series (which recreated the original show’s shocking breakfast-making process) play before a panel was held, with Hall’s casting revealed during the closing credits.
Hall then took to the stage with the cast and showrunners to take part in a panel discussion and receive a standing ovation from the audience, at the end of which it was revealed that he’ll also be starring in an entirely new series.
“I’m pretty excited. I’m very happy,” Hall said about returning to the series in the prequel. “I can’t wait to watch this show. I’m kind of on the inside and I know what’s going to happen, but I’m really excited. I’ve spent so much time with this character, so it’ll be great to go back and fill in the imaginary void.”
When it comes to recording Dexter’s inner thoughts, Hall has plenty of experience, having been doing it for years. Dexter He starred in the show for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013, before reprising the role in the 2021 sequel series. Dexter: The New Blood.
“It’s always been hard for me to imagine where Dexter was coming from and who he was talking to,” Hall said. “There were times when I imagined Dexter being in a space where he was being shown his life and he had to justify it to some kind of ruler or something. And I think that works in the same way here.”

Special guest appearances Sarah Michelle Gellar He moderated the panel and asked Hall and Patrick Gibson, who plays the new, young Dexter, if they’ve been spending a lot of time together already.
“I first met Patrick when I was on Zoom reading through the first two episodes,” Hall revealed. “We’d been exchanging emails. I just met him today, and we’re about the same height.”
“I’ll admit that Michael is a little taller,” Gibson said with a laugh.
“We still have time to grow up,” Hall joked. Later on in the panel, Hall retracted his statement and asked himself if he should have answered differently. “We actually grew up in the same house,” he joked.
Self-proclaimed Dexter Gibson, an avid fan, later confessed, “Michael doesn’t know that I fell asleep many nights to his voice. This is the first time I’m telling you that.”
Dexter: Original Sin It is scheduled to premiere in December, Dexter: Resurrection It will premiere on Paramount+ in summer 2025.
