Joe Biden accused Fox News reporter Peter Doocy after asking a keen question about rising inflation and called him “the stupid son of ab ****.”
After the reporter asked at the end of the photo session, “Do you think inflation is a political responsibility in the medium term?”, The president’s insult was reflected in the camera.
“It’s a great asset and more inflation. Mr Biden heard a reply in the East Room of the White House.
The enthusiastic exchange was not the first between pairs, but was in the midst of a US living cost crisis where earnings were well below prices.
Mr. Doucet laughed at the incident and said he hadn’t even heard Mr. Biden’s reaction because of the noise in the room.
“Yes, no one has confirmed him and said it wasn’t true,” the reporter told host Jesse Waters, who joked that he agreed with the president’s assessment.
Late Monday night, Mr. Ducy said the president had called on him to apologize.
“Within about an hour of the exchange, he called my cell phone and said,’It’s not personal,'” Doucey later told Sean Hannity on Fox News.
“And we were going back and forth and talking about a little step forward. I told him I was always trying to ask something different from what others were looking for.
“And he said,’You have to do’. And that’s a quote from the president, so I’ll keep going.”
Doucet told Hannity that it was a “good call” and, despite his busy schedule, Biden took the time to “clean the air” and “thank him.”
After the incident, CNN Whitehouse correspondent Kaitlan Collins told host Jake Tapper that he was fully aware of Mike in front of him when the president spoke.
“Mike was literally in front of him. I didn’t forget he was walking in the back room and had a clip on his collar. Mike was in front of him,” Tapper said. Laughed.
This is the latest conflict between Doucet and Mr. Biden, who plunged his head when the president held his first press conference in 2022 last week.
Biden continued to laugh on the podium after asking why Doucet was pulling the United States “so far to the left.”
Biden was laughed at asking questions before defending himself as “not Bernie Sanders” and “mainstream Democrat.”
“Well, I’m not. I don’t know what you think is too far to the left. In fact, make sure we have money for Covid and have a bipartisan infrastructure. Make sure you have the money to put it together and actually significantly reduced the burden on working class people to provide these things, so how it is being pulled to the left I don’t know, “Biden replied.
“You guys are trying to convince me that I’m Bernie Sanders. I’m not. I like him, but I’m not Bernie Sanders. I’m not a socialist. I’m mainstream. I’m a Democrat. “
Washington politicians who call Doothy “stupid” are like a bipartisan tradition. Republican Senator John McCain did so in 2017 when asked if he would block Donald Trump’s agenda.
“Why do you say stupid things? Why do you hear such stupid things?” McCain replied.
“U.S. Senator, does my job as an Arizona Senator I just re-elected mean that I behave like I’m blocking everything because of some personal disagreement? ? That’s a silly question. “
