Pope Francis’ medical condition: What to know about bilateral pneumonia

After Pope Francis’ diagnosis Bilateral pneumoniathe doctor is talking about this condition.

In a statement Tuesday, the Vatican announced the diagnosis of the Catholic leader, reportedly confirmed by clinical testing and chest x-rays.

“Multimicrobial infections that occur in photographs of bronchiectasis and sarcasmy bronchitis and require the use of antibiotic cortisone therapy make therapeutic treatment more complicated,” the statement said.

According to the Vatican, Pope Francis was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia.

“A CT scan of the chest that the Holy Father did this afternoon showed the development of bilateral pneumonia, requiring further pharmacological therapy.”

Pope Francis, 88, was recently admitted to the hospital to treat bronchitis, a condition that could lead to pneumonia.

What is bilateral pneumonia?

Pneumonia is defined as a lung infection by the Cleveland Clinic Caused by bacteriaviruses or fungi.

This can cause lung tissue to expand and cause fluid or pus buildup in the lungs.

Bed stage osteopneumonia, also known as dual pneumonia, occurs in both lungs at the same time.

This condition is even more dangerous senior citizenthe doctor added.
