More hospitals are pulling back by providing “gender-affirming care.” Young Patientsin accordance with recent executive orders on these practices.

Rush Medical Center in Chicago is the latest and large-scale healthcare system to announce that it has stopped these gender-related treatments.

Hospital spokesman Tobin Klinger confirmed with the local outlet that new patients under the age of 18 have “suspension” hormone therapy.

The HHS report reveals that treatment for gender discomfort poses “serious risks” for children and teens

Rush is not offering Gender-related surgery According to Klinger, for minors since 2023.

(Adults will continue to qualify for treatment, just like minors who are already in care.)

These changes continue to the President Donald TrumpAn executive order issued on January 28, 2025, entitled “Protecting children from chemical and surgical resections.”

The order states that the administration “will “fund, sponsor, promote, support, or support” children’s so-called “transition” from one sex to another” and “will strictly enforce all laws prohibit or limit these disruptive and life-changing procedures.”

For patients under the age of 19, “chemical and surgical amputations” include the use of adolescent blockers, sex hormones and surgical procedures, according to orders on the White House website.

Trans surgery increases the risk of mental health and suicidal thoughts: a study

On July 9, the Department of Justice announced that it had issued more than 20 subpoenas to doctors and clinics involved in implementing “transgender medical procedures” for children.

“The medical professionals and organizations that hurt children in the service of distorted ideological conditions will be held accountable by this Department of Justice,” Attorney General Pamela Bondy said in a statement on the DOJ’s website.

Other hospitals appear to have followed similar behaviors to Rush Medical Center.

It appears that New York-Presbyterian has removed and changed the online language of the Compass program. Gender Experience“Providing” hormonal treatment that suppresses adolescents and maintains gender.”

The website now describes the program as a “support space for youth and gender,” and references to gender-maintaining care have been removed.

A New York-Presbyterian spokesman provided the following statement to Fox News Digital:

“We continue to strive through this evolving situation to comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. As always, our priority is to serve all patients in a compassionate and responsible way.”

Stanford Medicine also reportedly has stopped “gender-affirming surgeries,” according to a statement provided to the San Francisco Chronicle.

“Following careful consideration of the latest federal actions and directives and consultations with clinical leadership, including interdisciplinary LGBTQ+ programs and their providers, Stanford Medicine was provided as part of the comprehensive health services for LGBTQ+ patients under the age of 19, as part of the comprehensive health services for LGBTQ+ patients under the age of 19,” he said.

Gender discomfort and eating disorders have skyrocketed since the pandemic, the report revealed

It was also reported that shortly after Trump’s executive order, NYU Langone canceled appointments for hormone treatment and gender surgery, and that parents alleged that the hospital was told they no longer offered these services to new patients under the age of 19.

Cleveland Clinic also responded to a survey by Fox News Digital, confirming that the clinic “does not provide gender-affirming treatment to patients under the age of 19.”

Previous research suggests that “gender-maintaining surgery” may be detrimental to the mental health of young people.

The researchers decided that Percentage of depressionanxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders were “significantly higher” among people with gender-inflicted disorder who underwent surgery.

Dr. Brett Osborne, a Florida neurosurgeon, and Jonathan Alpert, a Manhattan-based psychotherapist and author, both previously warned against young people’s gender-affirming surgeries.

Teens who are being treated for gender discomfort should be “appropriately supported and treated with compassion” without being pressured to “change their lives.” Medical decisionsAlpert advised.

Osborne also highlighted the need for comprehensive psychological assessments, especially for those with existing mental health challenges. Mental health support, Lifestyle modifications And all counseling should be prioritized before surgery, not after that, he said.

“You won’t amputate your limbs due to temporary pain, and certainly not to use up all the other options first, and you will never change your body forever,” he said.

Osborne expressed the same caution about hormone therapy. “We’re talking about irreversible changes that require lifelong management.”

“This is not about politics or ideology Healthy, longevity And make sure people don’t go through dramatic, life-changing steps just to regret them,” he said.
