A major new study discovered its transport A few pounds extra Especially for people who are “fat but fit,” it may not be as dangerous as insufficient weight.

Researchers at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark chased more than 85,000 adults and found that people who lost weight were nearly three times more likely to die than high-end people in the normal body mass index (BMI) range during the study period.

Even participants within the “healthy” range, but below, the risk of early death was increased.

For the first time, there are more obese children in the world than underwear

On the other hand, people who were overweight or moderately obese faced no higher mortality rates compared to people with upper range BMIS.

The findings challenge long-standing assumptions about BMI – calculations using weight and height – and health, According to a press release, it is “fat but fit,” suggesting that carrying a few pounds may not be as harmful as once thought.

The researchers presented their findings at the annual meeting of the European Diabetes Research (EASD) held in Vienna last week.

Body fat predicts major health risks that BMI miss, researchers say

However, the biggest risks were both extremes, such as extreme obesity and weight loss.

“Both weight deficiency and obesity are global health challenges,” said Dr. Sigrid Bierge Hryvshott, PhD, a lead investigator at Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Obesity can destroy the body’s metabolism, weaken the immune system, and lead to diseases such as: Type 2 diabetes, Cardiovascular disease and up to 15 different cancers are linked to malnutrition, weak immunity and undernourishment, despite being underweight, Hryvsholt warned.

Researchers say body fat distribution and underlying health play a major role in overall health.

Cancer deaths have hit a surge in “distrust” due to general health conditions, experts say

“Visceral fat – Very metabolically active and stored deep inside the abdomen, fat is wrapped around the organs. It secretes compounds that have a negative effect on metabolism health.”

“As a result, an individual with a BMI of 35 and is apple-type – excess fat is around the abdomen – type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure, but another individual with the same BMI [be] There’s none of these issues as the excess fat is in the lower back, butt and thighs,” he added.

Treatment of obesity should be personalized to take these factors and other conditions into consideration when setting the weight of the target, Bruun said.

Fox News Digital reached out to the study authors for comment.

Dr. Akshaya Srikanth Bhagavathula, an epidemiologist at North Dakota State University, told Fox News Digital that the findings support other recent studies but challenged current medical guidelines, which assume health risks will steadily rise in BMI.

” Higher mortality rates Bhagavathula told Fox News Digital. “It can cause BMI as hidden illnesses make the situation look the other way.

On the other hand, obesity tends to come before serious health problems, according to the World Health Organization.

Bhagavathula added that in older adults age-related muscle loss increases vulnerability such as falls and infection, while mild excess weight may provide a “protective effect” by providing energy reserves during illness. Denmark’s health and Active lifestyle, It could also contribute to its effectiveness, including extensive cycling.

He emphasized that BMI should be considered along with other measurements such as waist-to-hiite ratio, muscle mass, cholesterol, blood glucose level, gender, ethnicity, etc.

“Current health messaging often focuses on weight loss, creating shame and unnecessary treatment for people who are overweight and have normal physical functions,” he continued. “These findings suggest that we are moving towards nutritional approaches that emphasize not only BMI but how the body processes food, physical activity, balanced diet and blood tests.”
