Charlie Woods will have a long way to go on the second and final day of stroke play. U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club.

Woods, the 15-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, will compete in the final round of a 36-hole stroke-play qualifying round on the South Course on Tuesday at 1:48 p.m. Woods finished the first day tied for 242nd. He is in third place after shooting a 12-over 82 in the first round on the North Course on Wednesday. He is in a three-way with Chase Caiz, an 18-year-old University of Alabama golf player who shot an even-par 70 on Monday, and Davis Obard, an 18-year-old Baylor University golf player who shot a 3-over 73 on Monday.

Monarques:Charlie Woods’ disastrous round ended with him and Tiger blowing fans and reporters away.

Woods must finish within the top 64 cut line over two days of stroke play to advance to the tournament bracket match play that will run through Saturday’s championship match. Woods will play on the South Course, which has served as the home of major championships at Oakland Hills for more than 100 years. It was renovated from 2019 to 2021 and is 500 yards longer than the North Course.

Tiger will likely be a fan for the second straight day after walking with the crowd behind his son during the first round on Monday — parents are not allowed to caddie for their children at the U.S. Junior Amateur.

Below is a shot-by-shot tracking of Woods’ second round on the South Course. For a complete shot-by-shot recap of Monday’s first round, see here.

Hole 10, par 4

On his first shot of the second round, Woods hit his driver down the middle of the fairway on the 482-yard par-4 10th hole. Woods took out an iron for his second shot and landed it on the green for a chance at birdie. Woods’ putt fell just left of the hole and he tapped in for par.

Score: 12 over.

Hole 11, Par 4

On the 431-yard par-4 11th hole, Woods used a hybrid and hit the ball to the left of a fairway bunker. Woods was about 100 yards uphill to the green. Woods’ second shot was an iron, landing short of the green and about 50 feet from the hole. Woods nearly made a birdie, but his putt rolled off the left edge two feet from the hole and he tapped in for par.

Score: 12 over.

Hole 12, par 5

Woods took out his driver on the 570-yard par-5 12th hole and it landed in the rough on the right side. Woods hit his iron into the rough on the left about 90 yards short of the green. Woods’ third shot landed on the green about 25 feet from the hole. Woods hit a birdie about 4 feet short, then his putt for par stayed left, leading to a tap-in bogey.

Score: 13 over.

Hole 13, Par 3

Woods’ first shot on the 183-yard, par-3 13th was an iron shot just outside the hole in a bunker at the back left of the green. Woods hit a chip shot onto the green about six feet from the hole. Woods sank the par putt.

Score: 13 over.

Hole 14, par 4

Woods hit a drive shot on the 496-yard par-4 14th hole that landed five feet into the rough on the left side.

The match was halted due to weather delays.
