Robert Downey Jr. plays Doctor Doom

During Marvel’s panel in Hall H, some big news about Avengers 5 was announced: the film’s title has been changed to Avengers: Doomsday. The Russo Brothers will be directing the film (as well as Avengers 6), and Robert Downey Jr. will also star. Playing Doctor Doom in DoomsdayThe film is scheduled to be released in May 2026.

Avengers: Secret Wars is happening now

As a sequel to Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in May 2027. The film was first announced in 2022 as the conclusion of Phase 6, with the Russo brothers returning to the saga they created. Marvel has announced that the Fantastic Four, along with Doctor Doom, will appear in both of the new Avengers films.

Fantastic Four: The First Step

It’s been almost a decade since the last Fantastic Four movie, but this time Marvel is back at the helm. Though the new film won’t hit theaters until July 2025, fans have gotten their first look at the star-studded cast in action. The new crew includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss Bachalak as the Thing.

Ralph Ineson will also be joining the cast as the iconic villain Galactus, a role Marvel teased earlier this week with a spectacular drone show that painted the character’s distinctive face into the San Diego sky before morphing into the Team 4 logo.

The Thunderbolt is Coming

Before the Fantastic Four hits theaters, fans can see the Thunderbolts make an appearance on the big screen in May 2025. The cast took to the stage, where Marvel showed off a clip from the upcoming film that will tie directly into Captain America: Brave New World. The clip showcases a team of supervillains who specialize in government-sanctioned covert operations. In it, Russian spy Elena visits Alexei and realizes that he’s been slacking off while she’s busy with contract work. While Elena talks with him, the footage shows her fighting her way through a secret location, where she encounters several Marvel characters, including Agent John Walker and Ghost. Elena ends up jumping off a skyscraper, and the words “be careful who you recruit” appear on screen. Later in the clip, the group meets up in an elevator and enters Valentina’s office.

Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena, along with David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as Agent Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra De Fontaine and many other characters.

‘Vought Rising’, the prequel to ‘The Boys’

Prime Video’s gory superhero show is getting a spinoff, with Jensen Ackles returning as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash reprising her role as Stormfront. The prequel, Vought Rising, will take audiences back to the corrupt corporation’s early days in the 1950s and when Stormfront was once known as Clara Vought. Eric Kripke will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

Ring of Power season 2 goes nuclear

The new season premieres on Prime Video on August 29, and clips shared by Hall H show a huge battle with the orcs and the casting of the ring. The showrunners say Ring of Power season 2 will see “the start of the nuclear age, everybody wants the bomb, everybody wants the nuclear codes, but what they don’t know is that it all leads to this guy.” [Sauron]” Adar and Sauron are at odds with each other and there are plenty of giant creatures in this one. Check out the latest trailer here:

Like a Yakuza

“Ryu ga Gotoku: Like a Dragon” is a TV series based on the Sega video game series that will be recreating Kamurocho on Prime Video. On Friday, fans were treated to some footage of Kiryu Kazuma, played by Takeuchi Ryoma, and Nishikiyama Akira, played by Kaku Kento. The show is a sort of origin story, charting the first decade of Kiryu Kazuma’s life and his brother-like bond with Nishikiyama. The first three episodes will be available on Prime Video on Oct. 24. Check out the teaser trailer, which dropped on Friday, below:

Season 3 release date announced

Following last season’s cliffhanger ending, mystery horror series From will premiere its third installment on September 22. The show, which streams on MGM Plus, is set in a town with (seemingly) no escape, terrorized by bloodthirsty monsters.

Michael C. Hall returns to Dexter

The world of Dexter continues to expand. During the Ballroom 20 panel for the upcoming prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, viewers got their first look at the show’s breakfast-making credits sequence, a fun callback to the original series’ opening credits. The program also stars Patrick Gibson as the titular antihero and Christian Slater as Harry Morgan. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Christina Milian and Patrick Dempsey round out the cast.

Michael C. Hall took to the stage during the panel to reveal what his role will be in the series. We’ll hear him deliver his inner monologue when the show premieres on Paramount+ in December. “It’s pretty exciting. I’m very happy with it,” he said. “I’ve spent so much time with this character, so it’s awesome to go back and fill in the gaps in my imagination.”

Additionally, Hall announced that he will be reprising the role that made him famous in the upcoming Dexter series, Dexter: Resurrection, which is set in the present day and will premiere in the summer of 2025.

Legend of Vox Machina Season 3 First Look

Prime Video’s animated series based on the wildly popular live-action Dungeons & Dragons streaming series “Critical Role” returns with its biggest adventure yet. “Everything is at stake,” according to the official synopsis for the third season of “The Legend of Vox Machina,” which premieres on October 3rd.
Isn’t that always the case in the world of Critical Role?

Matthew Mercer, Marisha Rae, Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Travis Willingham and Liam O’Brien all gathered at Ballroom 20 on Saturday to discuss the future of the series, its highly anticipated spinoff The Mighty Nine (check out a preview of that below) and the future of Critical Role.
