P&G hit by falling beauty and diaper sales

Procter & Gamble shares (PG) fell on Tuesday. Consumer goods giants missed out Sales fell short of expectations due to lower sales of cosmetics and diapers.

P&G reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2024 revenue of $20.53 billion, roughly the same as a year ago, compared with the average forecast of $20.75 billion from analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha. Adjusted earnings per share of $1.40 beat expectations.

Beauty sales fell 1% year over year to $3.72 billion, hurt by lower demand for its premium brand SK-II and in Greater China. Baby, Feminine and Family Care sales fell 3% to $5.01 billion. Chief Financial Officer Andre Schulten said supply chain constraints had prevented the company from innovating its Luvs diaper brand.

P&G shares were down nearly 6% in early afternoon trading.

ARM Holdings shares continue to fall ahead of earnings announcement
