Say what you want about Stella Blade, Shift up It really knows its users. Stellar Blade has received a new update that is closer to Dead or Alive: Eve Edition.
Sadly, there’s no volleyball, but the update does add a limited-time summer makeover to the Great Desert Oasis, likely featuring Stellar Blade as a service, where Eve can lounge with new “sunbed” interactions and new music. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Eve’s swimwear collection expand, too.
There are two new outfits that don’t need to be earned, but can simply be purchased at Clyde’s store in Oasis. These outfits are more intricate and futuristic in style than the other swimsuit-inspired outfits she has, and fans are huge fans of them.
Despite posting a ton of images and posts online, the update is actually do not have It comes with a photo mode, but SHIFT UP says we’ll have to wait a little longer for it, so players will just have to make do with camera angles and screen captures.
One complaint we’ve seen from fans about this is that areas in the game aren’t permanent, which seems odd for a single player game with no live components whatsoever. A little odd, I guess, but not a big deal. You get to keep the swimsuits forever. Again, one of the most impressive things about Stellar Blade is that even though they could obviously make millions selling outfits, they made all of the outfits earnable in-game, which is rare in the industry.
This is a minor update, but I will admit it’s a pretty interesting one. There is more actual content planned to be added, like the boss rush game added, and as a successful new IP by a studio with no prior experience in the AAA field, there is talk of an expansion and a sequel. There are also “collaboration” events planned for the future, which will, as you might expect, feature more costumes.
Stellar Blade is my second favorite game of the year behind The First Descendant, which I put nearly 200 hours into. However, after two plays and about 60 hours of Stellar Blade, I’d accurately describe it as one of the best games I’ve played in recent memory, an 8/10. The combat is fantastic, and aside from some extremely silly costume drama, I’d argue that Eve joins 2B and Bayonetta as a fairly iconic protagonist upon her debut.
I probably won’t bother logging in just for this and will wait until they add some actual content, but it’s a fun surprise that’s very much in keeping with SHIFT UP’s brand, which means that for now, you should just leave it to them.
