Some hair stylists have confirmed an increase in clients complaining about losing their hair A Weight Loss Journey.

This includes Ashlie Di Matto, owner of Ashley Lauren Beauty Lounge in Westchester, New York, and Briana Del Becchio, a color specialist and hairdresser at Di Matteo’s salon. The two spoke with Fox News Digital in an interview on camera (See the video at the top of the article).

“The client definitely had an increase with hair loss,” DiMatteo said. It said it will lead to losing hair completely from stages to fast to thinning.

Delvecchio agreed that she was coming to report “a few” clients with thinner and dry hair. Weight loss drugs.

“This is a sign of success in weight loss management,” one expert said. “If a patient loses hair, that means they lost weight quickly.” (istock)

Hairstylists taking GLP-1 medications said there may be several reasons for hair changes – new medications, vitamin defects, weight loss, and more can put stress on the body.

Becky Watt, an Ohio hair stylist with over 20 years of experience, said he found out his client was losing his hair while taking weight loss pills.

“I’ve seen my hair come out thin and fall off and when I wash it, it’s very easy to get my hair out.”

“I’ve seen my hair come out thin and fall off and when I wash it, it’s very easy to get my hair out,” she told Fox News Digital. “I’m not aware of the ald spots.”

But she has a client taking medication without hair loss, Watt added.

Medical Factors

In another interview, Dr. Philip Rabito, an endocrinologist in New York City, explained that the response, called telogen drainage, is a stress response to weight loss that affects hair follicles.

The reaction was temporary, he noted. Once weight loss is stable after a few months, hair will grow after falling.

“It’s a response to severe physical stress and weight loss is considered starvation,” Rabito said. “What correlates with hair loss is how quickly you lose weight.”

Before weight loss medicine, conventional Bariatric surgery Rabito leads to a 70% loss of excess weight in about six months they share. This was followed by hair removal within 6-9 months.

“Your body doesn’t understand that this is a healthy weight loss. Your body thinks it’s starving,” he repeated. “It happens to almost everyone, more people than others.”

This daily beauty routine can be ruining your hair, experts warn

People who lose more weight more repeatedly are at higher risk of hair loss and suffer from underlying problems or micronutrient deficiencies in the thyroid gland – usually iron, B12 or vitamin D

these Vitamin deficiency According to doctors, it is important to work with healthcare professionals to balance these levels, as weight loss can get worse if it occurs.

“My client who says he has no appetite seems to be the one who loses his hair the most,” observed one hairstylist. (istock)

“From what I’ve learned from talking to these specific clients, it seems like clients who are still eating don’t have hair loss,” Watt observed.

“It seems like my clients have no appetite that they have nothing to lose their hair the most,” she continued. “I think it’s probably due to a lack of nutrients and protein, but I’m not a doctor.”

Tips for managing hair removal

Dimatteo and Delvecchio agreed to “always” advise their clients to see their doctors to check for vitamin levels.

“And we taper their hair routine too,” DiMatteo said. “Essentially, there are fewer hair removal.”

“Then we will tell you that you need to work on your scalp health. We will give your hair a slightly gentle shampoo and conditioner.”

“It’s a response to severe physical stress and weight loss is considered starvation.”

“The scalp stimulation is huge,” added Dimateo. “Rinse with cold water also helps. Lightning or coloring – Spread as much as possible. ”

Rabito pointed out that losing hair is “part of the game.” He said he always warns patients before beginning his weight loss journey that this is the most likely chance of happening and is a “mark of success.”

“They’re going to lose their hair,” he said. “It’s going to get worse before it gets better.”

“However, as long as you control vitamins, if a patient’s plateau and weight are stable in one or two months, the body no longer feels hunger and the body will grow more than ever.”

Watt said he frequently recommends hair vitamins to clients who are struggling with weight loss. “Diet has a lot to do with it,” she pointed out.

She also recommends using shampoos and conditioners that are formulated to resist thinning or hair removal, along with bond building hair products.
