The U.S. basketball team beat Nikola Jokic and Serbia The Lakers won 105-79 in their third pre-Olympic showcase game on Wednesday afternoon. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry scored 24 points and made 6-of-9 3-pointers. Lakers big man Anthony Davis had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks.
The U.S. came into the match having won its first two games. Defeat Australia 98-92 on monday.
Wednesday’s match also served as a preview of the group stage. 2024 Paris Olympics Basketball tournament. USA and Serbia are both in Group C and will meet again in the opening group match at the Olympics.

When is Team USA’s next basketball game?
The USA will face fellow Group C team South Sudan in London on Saturday, July 20, in the fourth and penultimate exhibition game of the USA Basketball Showcase. The game will kick off at 3 pm ET and will be broadcast on FOX.
USA defeats Serbia 105-79
Strong performances from Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the U.S. team to a 3-0 record in their pre-Olympic showcase with a win over Serbia.
Team USA leads by 30 points
With three minutes left in the game, the U.S. was leading Serbia 99-69.
Curry puts on a show in Abu Dhabi
The 36-year-old point guard scored 24 points against Serbia, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range, with his latest score giving the U.S. a 95-66 lead.
Anthony Davis dominates the rim
The Lakers star had six blocks with seven minutes left in the game and finished with seven points and six rebounds off the bench.
USA leads Serbia in third quarter
After two consecutive quarters of strong play, the USA led Serbia 83-58 with 10 minutes left in the game.
Anthony Edwards scoops and scores
The young guard stole the ball from Serbia on the defensive wing and raced down the court to smash it in with ease. Things were going well for the USA in the second half.
Bam Adebayo makes a three-point shot
The 26-year-old center from Miami Heat benefited from the good ball movement of the U.S. offense, and with the shot clock running out, Adebayo smashed a shot from the top of the key late in the game.
Serbia narrowed the gap to 18 points.
Before the first media timeout of the second half, Serbia’s shooting heated up as the team went on a 10-2 run to cut the U.S. lead to 73-55 with four minutes left in the third quarter.
USA team dominates early in the second half
Missed shots and strong U.S. defense held Serbia to zero points through the first 3 1/2 minutes of the third quarter, while the U.S. went on a 12-0 run to open the second half and extend their lead to 71-45.
USA leads Serbia 59-45 at halftime
After a shaky first 10 minutes, the Americans came out strong in the second quarter, scoring midway through the quarter and taking a 14-point lead by halftime.
Anthony Davis recorded 4 blocks today
A big part of Team USA’s scoring spurt was the strong defense of Lakers big man Anthony Davis, who blocked multiple shots near the rim during the spurt. The Americans led Serbia, 59-45.
USA extends lead with 13-2 run
Curry’s four-point play gave the U.S. team momentum, and they added another point with two minutes left in the second quarter to extend their lead to 53-42.
Derrick White makes US team debut
The Celtics guard took to the court for the first time as a member of the U.S. national team midway through the second quarter.
Curry wins
The Americans regained the lead with a wide-open three-pointer from Stephen Curry, who continued to score with two points on a drive to the hoop and four-point plays on his next two attempts. The Americans led 44-40.
Curry and James combine to assist Embiid on an easy shot
The two multiple-time NBA MVPs combined to make two beautiful passes to Joel Embiid under the basket for two quick points.
Serbia takes the lead again
Turnovers continued to be a problem for the U.S., and Serbia regained the lead early in the third quarter with a pair of 3-pointers. A fierce drive by LeBron James ended an 8-0 run, but Serbia still led 34-31.
The U.S. and Serbia were tied at 28-28 after the first quarter.
Serbia was able to get the ball up the court quickly after a few missed shots by the U.S. team, and they made a buzzer-beating layup to tie the game at the end of the first quarter.
Edwards ties with USA with deep three
After Team USA started moving the ball and getting on the offensive, the ball ended up in the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves star, who drilled a 3-pointer from the top of the key to tie the game at 24-24 with a minute left in the first quarter.
He followed with a steal, drew a foul and went to the free throw line, where he made both of his free throws to put the U.S. ahead again, 26-24.
Jokic hits a hook shot over two defenders’ heads
With two Americans on his guard, the center passed to Dobric for a shot from beyond the arc. After missing the shot, Jokic grabbed the boards and made a difficult shot over the defender’s head. Serbia led 22-19.
Dobrich and Petrushev team up for Rob and Slam
On a breakaway after a steal, Serbia small forward Ognjen Dobric threw a pass to center Filip Petrushev, who smashed it over the head of Anthony Davis to give Serbia an 18-15 lead.
Jokic hears MVP call at the free throw line
The three-time NBA MVP and reigning NBA MVP made two free throws, eliciting chants of “MVP” from the crowd as Serbia led 16-13 at the first media timeout.
Serbia takes and extends lead
A few miscommunications led to U.S. turnovers and an 8-0 run by Serbia led the U.S., 14-13, midway through the first quarter.
Stephen Curry leads the U.S. in points
After Team USA scored the opening point, Curry opened the scoring with a 3-pointer from the left wing, then Curry made another one moments later to give the Americans a 7-4 lead just two minutes into the game.
