The outbreak of measles continues to spread throughout the United States, sparking debate about how best to protect children and other high-risk groups from illness.
West Texas was the focus. The biggest occurrence – The virus has also appeared in several other states as of March 11th, as of March 11th.
Below is a state-by-state overview of where measles was detected and the number of cases in the US. Fox News Digital will continue to update this list when new data is released.

Alaska
According to the Alaska Department of Health, the state recorded cases of measles in unvaccinated adults who traveled abroad in January 2025.

Atlanta
A total of three measles cases were confirmed in 2025. The first case was reported in January. Two additional families in February I was infected with the virus.
California
As of March 11th, five cases of measles have been confirmed in California.
Kentucky
On February 26, the Kentucky Department of Public Health announced its first confirmed measles incident since February 2023.
Adults have recently traveled to areas with international spread of measles, health officials said.

Maryland
On March 9, the Maryland Department of Health and the Howard County Health Department announced one confirmed case of measles.
The person recently traveled internationally.
New Jersey
As of March 7th this year, a total of three measles cases have been reported in New Jersey.
“There are no communities going on. Measles communication At this point in New Jersey,” the Health Department said.

New Mexico
As of March 11, the state had 33 cases of measles. Of these, 32 were in Lee County and 32 in Eddie County.
One death has been reported, and he has reportedly not been vaccinated and did not seek medical assistance.
new york
A total of three cases have been reported in New York. Two of them are in New York City and one is in New York, outside the city.

Oklahoma
Two types of measles were reported in Oklahoma on March 11, according to the Oklahoma Department of Health.
Pencilania
As of March 7, one case of measles has been confirmed in the state.
The patient was Children who have not been vaccinated From Montgomery County, according to the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.

Rhode Island
The state confirmed one case of measles in January 2025, the first confirmed measles since 2013.
The patient was a young, unvaccinated child with a history of recent international travel, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Texas
As of March 11, a total of 223 cases had been identified since late January, according to the Texas Department of Health. The majority are reported in Gaines County.
Twenty-nine patients have been hospitalized and one death has been reported.

Vermont
The state confirmed its first case of measles in 2025 on March 11th. According to the Vermont Department of Health, the patient was a school-age child who had recently traveled internationally.
Washington
The state’s first measles incident was reported on February 27th, affecting infants in King County.
