Vikings star receiver Jordan Addison arrested in California on possible DWI

Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison Addison was arrested in California late Friday on suspicion of drunk driving, just days after a teammate was killed in a crash that may have been alcohol-related and nearly a year after he was arrested for driving 140 mph in St. Paul.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to a call about a vehicle blocking a lane on a highway near Los Angeles International Airport. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a white Rolls Royce blocking a lane and that the driver appeared to have fallen asleep at the wheel.

The driver, identified as a 22-year-old Addison man, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a brief investigation, according to the CHP.

In a statement, Vikings The team said only that they were aware of the arrest.

“We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest last Friday and are currently gathering further information regarding the incident,” the statement said.

This arrest was Los Angeles Daily News.

Addison was arrested at 3:15 a.m. on July 20 last year for speeding eastbound on Interstate 94 in St. Paul. He was accused of driving a luxury SUV, a Lamborghini Urus, at 140 mph, 85 mph over the 55 mph speed limit. According to the charging document filed the following week, Addison told a state trooper he had an emergency with his dog at home. In August, Addison agreed to plead guilty He was charged with a misdemeanor, paid a $686 fine and had his driver’s license revoked for six months.

“Yesterday morning, I made a mistake and used poor judgment. I acknowledge and accept that. I will learn from this and not repeat the same behavior,” Addison said in a statement after his arrest last year. “I am truly sorry.”

The 23rd overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft out of Southern California, Addison signed a four-year contract worth $13.7 million, all of which is guaranteed. He had a successful rookie season on the field, starting 14 games, playing in all 17 games and catching 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him a spot on the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team.

News of Addison’s arrest broke Vikings rookie cornerback Kyrie Jackson passes away A Maryland native, Jackson, a fourth-round draft pick out of Oregon in April, and two high school teammates were killed on the morning of July 6 when their Dodge Charger was struck by an Infiniti Q50 that was passing their Charger at a high speed. The Q50 struck the Charger, causing it to skid off the road and strike a tree stump before coming to a stop.

Investigators said at the time that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. No charges have yet been filed.

On December 8, Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being pulled over for speeding on Interstate 394 in Minneapolis. He ultimately agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of careless driving, which included one year of probation, eight hours of community service and a $378 fine. The Vikings suspended him without pay for three weeks in April.
