Meanwhile, Lee Greenwood belted out “Holdin’ a Good Hand” between speeches on the second night, getting delegates dancing in the aisles. The Grammy Award-winning singer also signed copies of the “God Bless the USA Bible,” which was available for sale throughout the convention. (The Trump-signed version is available online for $1,000.)
On the final night of the convention, professional wrestler Hulk Hogan appeared on stage at the Republican National Convention carrying an American flag while Rick Derringer’s “Real American” played in the background. The song is known as Hogan’s WWE theme song, and a montage featuring Hogan’s storied career also played on a large screen above him.
Ahead of Trump’s speech, Kid Rock performed his 2000 song “American Bad Ass,” but changed some of the lyrics to refer to the assassination attempt on the former president on Saturday.
“I want everybody to put their fists in the air!” Rock said, jumping onstage. “Say Fight, Fight, Fight! Trump, Trump!”
During his highly anticipated speech at the convention, Trump thanked Locke for his performance.
“Thank you, Kid Rock, also known as Bob,” he said.
Country singer Chris Janson performed his 2015 singles “Buy Me a Boat” and “Every Day of the Week” on the first night, while Amber Rose, a model and TV personality who spoke at the Republican National Convention, appeared in the music video for Folgert Blow’s “Trump Trump Baby,” which was shown on the big screen.
Over the years, several musicians, including Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Pharrell Williams and Rihanna, have explicitly asked the Trump campaign not to use their music at events.
