What I’m looking forward to: Microsoft has long been pushing the connection between Android phones and Windows PCs, allowing users to share files and features between the platforms, but it has encountered many bugs along the way. The new Windows 11 Insider update aims to improve this smartphone-PC integration, Add-on apps Enable seamless wireless capabilities directly within File Explorer.
All Windows 11 Insider channel users can now view files stored on their Android phone directly in File Explorer, allowing users to delete, rename, move, or copy files between devices.
To use this new feature, you need a phone running Android 11 or later and Windows app beta version 1.24071 or later. To enable this feature,[設定]>[Bluetooth とデバイス]>[モバイル デバイス]>[デバイスの管理]Go to and toggle the option to show your phone in File Explorer.
It’s important to note that files deleted on your PC will be moved to the Recycle Bin on your phone, and automatic deletion from the Recycle Bin will occur after 5 days instead of the usual 30, although a future update will see this period revert back to 30 days. Microsoft also plans to address minor issues with phone syncing and PC Recycle Bin.

File Explorer isn’t the only way to share content between your Android phone and your Windows PC. Last year, Google introduced Nearby Share (now Google QuickShare) is Google’s equivalent of Apple’s AirDrop for Windows users. Users with a Google account can transfer files between platforms by dragging them into Google’s desktop app or by right-clicking on them.
Additionally, earlier this year, Microsoft introduced a feature that lets your Android phone act as a webcam for Windows, similar to Apple’s Continuity Camera feature for iPhones and Macs. The feature can be found in the “Mobile Devices” section of Settings.
Microsoft is telling PC owners Phone Link App It allows you to remotely perform functions on your Android phone, such as sending messages, making calls, accessing photos, etc. Unlike other smartphone connectivity features, Phone Link will eventually support iPhones as well.
