Today’s Daily Chart

It’s a somewhat subjective rating of the weather for that day on a scale of 0 to 10.

3/10: Once the fever goes down you’ll feel some temporary relief, but it’s still a bit too hot to handle.

Quick Forecast

  • today: Sunny, light breeze, low humidity. Highs: 86 to 92.
  • tonight: Increasing clouds with a chance of rain late at night. Low: 67 to 73.
  • tomorrow: Occasional showers and storms will occur, and humidity will be high. High: 77 to 83.

Detailed forecast

The worst of the heat and humidity will wash off to sea, allowing for more summery days. Rain and storms will move inland tomorrow through Saturday, bringing heavy rain for some. Unfortunately, once the rain clears, the heat will return from Sunday through early next week.

Today (Thursday): Last night’s storm has dissipated by daybreak. Clouds may linger into the early morning hours, but will decrease to just a few clouds by the afternoon. Highs will be seasonably in the upper 80s to low 90s. More importantly, humidity will not be too high and dew points will be in the mid 60s versus yesterday’s mid 70s. Winds will be minimal. Reliability: High

tonight: Rain and storms are slowly moving inland from the Atlantic Ocean from east to west across the region. A few storms may reach the region before dawn. Lows will drop into the upper 60s to lower 70s Fahrenheit, and winds will be mostly calm. Confidence: Medium to high

Tomorrow (Friday): Intermittent showers and storms are possible with an unusual southeast to northwest movement. Tropical moisture is in ample supply, so rainfall of over an inch is possible, especially along and east of I-95, but precipitation amounts may be significantly reduced to the west. The absence of rain and clouds will result in less heat, with highs remaining in the upper 70s to low 80s F. Reliability: Moderate to High

tomorrow night: Scattered rain and a few storms will continue through the night, with lows again in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Confidence: Medium to high

Future outlook

Showers and localized storms Saturday The weather will move forward. Rain chances will increase in the east. Hot air is starting to return from the west, and heat is definitely on its way. Highs will rise into the upper 80s to lower 90s Fahrenheit, with a bit of humidity. Overnight lows will settle into the upper 60s to mid 70s Fahrenheit. Reliability: Moderate

Temperatures are rising and the heat is gradually returning Sunday Early to mid 90s Monday Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s Fahrenheit. It will feel even hotter with a dew point near 70. This heat will likely result in an isolated storm or two in the late afternoon and early evening. Lows will be around 70 Fahrenheit. Reliability: Medium
