George and Mandy’s first marriage — Title Young Sheldon Spin-off CBS — may suggest a certain degree of pessimism about the story, but that’s the point of the new multi-camera sitcom, which begins in October, the executive producer explains. Chuck Lorre.
“George is 19 and a high school dropout. Is his marriage going to work out?” Lorre told reporters at the Television Critics Tour on Saturday. “It’s definitely pessimistic at first, but there is hope if people are patient.”

“We’ve been doing this for long enough, and we’ve heard it so many times that the multi-camera sitcom is over,” Holland says. The Big Bang TheoryPeople loved making these predictions, but once an audience can relate to something, it’s no longer true.”
“I try to pursue things that excite me, that are great, that I get to work with people that I love and respect, that tell great stories that have the potential to make people laugh,” Lorre added. “And how great would that be? Did I make people laugh? That’s not a bad day. What the industry deems possible actually doesn’t matter to me. I try to focus on doing what I love.”

The comedy is being shot at the same Warner Bros. studios. Big Bang Theory, The first episode is set to be taped in Burbank next week, and Lorre will continue to produce irreverent vanity cards at the end of each episode.
